Saudi Arabia flights to resume from 11 September

We’re pleased to announce that Etihad Airways will resume flights to and from Saudi Arabia effective 11 September.

 

Medical Insurance

  • Guests travelling to Saudi Arabia must have medical insurance covering COVID-19 treatment costs. This doesn’t apply to Saudi nationals, residents, and GCC citizens.

  • Every Etihad Airways ticket includes our COVID-19 global wellness insurance cover as a standard.

 

Red list countries

  • Passengers travelling from Afghanistan, Brazil, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Pakistan, Turkey or Vietnam are not allowed entry to Saudi Arabia currently. This includes passengers travelling from other countries who have passed through any of these countries in the past 14 days before arrival to Saudi Arabia.

  • Exemptions from red list countries include Saudi nationals, their family members and their accompanying workers, diplomats, health practitioners and their families, KSA vaccinated residents who have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine in Saudi Arabia if they are travelling from Brazil, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Pakistan and Turkey. Approved vaccines in Saudi Arabia

  • Approved vaccines are two doses of Pfizer, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, or two doses of Sinopharm or Sinovac with a booster dose of one of the four approved vaccines (does not apply to tourists). Vaccine certificates must be registered on the Muqeem platform before travel, except for Saudi nationals. Vaccinated guests should have received all doses 14 days before arrival.
  • Unvaccinated guests will have to undergo a 7-day institutional quarantine in Saudi Arabia. Saudi nationals, members of their families and domestic helpers are exempt from institutional quarantine in Saudi Arabia.
  • Quarantine packages must be booked through Etihad Holidays.

 

Visa types allowed entry to Saudi Arabia

  • Tourist, Umrah, visit and work visas holders are accepted, except for guests travelling from red list countries. For Umrah visas, only vaccinated pilgrims are permitted entry.

 

Quarantine-free travel to Abu Dhabi

  • All guests can travel quarantine-free from Saudi Arabia to Abu Dhabi as the Kingdom is on the Abu Dhabi Green list.
