More positive news from the Australian authorities has been released to open up travel to Sydney and Melbourne for vaccinated Australian nationals, residents and their immediate family members.
Approval to travel from Australia will also not be required for vaccinated nationals and residents from 1 November, allowing travel to and from Australia for a much larger group of travellers.
Your customers can travel into Australia without quarantine from 1 November if they are fully vaccinated at least 14 days before travel. Immediate family members can travel with prior approval. Airline passenger caps are no longer applicable for this category of travellers.
Approved vaccines Approved vaccines are Pfizer, AstraZeneca COVISHIELD, AstraZeneca Vaxzevira, Moderna Spikevax, Sinovac Coronavac, Sinopharm, Covaxin or Johnson & Johnson (Janssen-Cilag). Exemptions apply for children under the age of 12, or those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons. Unvaccinated Children aged 12-17 can still travel to Australia, with a condition to home quarantine for 7 days on arrival. If guests are not vaccinated with full dose(s) of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travel
For your customers who are booked on an Etihad flight AUHSYD or AUHMEL from 1 November 2021 – 26 March 2022
Approval process for immediate family members Before a parent or an immediate family member who is not an Australian citizen or permanent resident can travel to Australia, they will need to have their relationship confirmed by submitting a travel exemption request through the Department of Home Affairs’ Travel Exemption Portal.
Guests should also ensure they meet the latest visa and passport regulations before they fly to Australia which can be found on the IATA Travel Centre.
Bookings are open via all channels for travel from 1 November.
